Elimination of water seepage through construction joints in the powerhouse

- Joint between sections 8–9 at elevation +127.50 m
Materials used (ZAO “Carbo-ZAKK” injection systems):
- CarboCryl – fast-reacting hydrophilic two-component methacrylate gel
- CarboCrackSeal – slow-reacting, extremely elastic, low-viscosity two-component polyurethane injection resin
- CarboStop – one-component hydro-active polyurethane resin
Technology:
Multi-stage injection through drilled packers ensured immediate stopping of active water inflow (CarboCryl and CarboStop) followed by permanent flexible sealing with CarboCrackSeal capable of accommodating ongoing structural movements.
As a result, all filtration through the joints was completely eliminated. The powerhouse sections have remained fully dry under full reservoir head since completion of the works, confirming the high reliability and durability of the applied Carbo-ZAKK solutions in severe hydroelectric environment.
