Additional information
| Product Name | CarboStop U is a one-component, water-reactive resin that foams and cures upon contact with water. It is free from fluorochlorohydrocarbons (FCHCs) and phthalate plasticizers. |
|---|---|
| Applications | ► Stopping water ingress (including seawater) |
| Component Description | CarboStop R U is a resin composed of modified isocyanates and additives. |
| Key Advantages | ► High expansion factor compared to two-component resins; CarboStop R U cures only upon contact with water. |
| Operating Principle | CarboStop U is injected into water-bearing zones through a packer (injector) using a manual pump or an electric/pneumatic pump. Upon contact with water, the resin expands significantly and cures. If there is insufficient water in the area being sealed, pre-injection or post-injection of water is required to ensure complete curing of the material. |
| Packaging | CarboStop U – 10 kg plastic canister. Alternative packaging sizes may be available upon agreement with the customer. |
| Storage | CarboStop U should be stored at temperatures between -5°C and +30°C. When stored under these conditions, the shelf life is at least 12 months. |
| Recommendations | Before use, CarboStop U resin must be conditioned for at least 24 hours at a temperature of no less than +15°C to achieve the optimal application temperature range of +15°C to +30°C. Localized overheating of the canister walls must be avoided. |
| Equipment | Compact single-component or two-component injection pumps with manual, pneumatic, or electric drive, along with injection accessories such as packers/sealing packers, injection and discharge hoses, shut-off valves, nipples, coupling fittings, and clamps. |
